Novec 1230 is a modern fire suppression agent with clean gas technology, developed in accordance with international standards. This suppression gas, whose chemical structure belongs to the fluorinated ketone group, is safely used in the protection of critical areas due to its colorless, odorless, non-conductive, and equipment-safe properties.
Designed for extinguishing Class A, Class B, and Class C fires, Novec 1230 systems have been tested and their performance approved by international organizations such as UL, FM, and LPCB. The system operates on the principle of volume protection, and upon activation, it can bring a fire under control within approximately 10 seconds, minimizing potential damage to equipment.
For the system to operate at maximum efficiency, it is of great importance that leak tests are conducted in the protected areas. Furthermore, hydraulic calculations must be performed using licensed software provided by the brand used. Proper project design prevents potential risks by ensuring the complete determination of the piping system, nozzle placement, and cylinder capacity.
Novec 1230 is one of the safe suppression systems that can also be used in occupied areas. However, during the design phase, international safety criteria, specifically NOAEL (No Observed Adverse Effect Level) and LOAEL (Lowest Observed Adverse Effect Level) values, must be taken into consideration, and the system must be designed within these limits.
Since the suppression agent is stored in a liquid state, it offers significant advantages in terms of transport and storage. Fire cylinders can be positioned either inside or outside the protected area depending on the need. The delivery of the gas from the cylinder to the nozzles is carried out using nitrogen (N₂) pressure.
Novec 1230, which stands out with its environmentally sensitive structure, has a much lower environmental impact compared to other HFC-based suppression gases due to its rapid decomposition in the atmosphere. Thanks to these features, it is preferred as a reliable fire protection solution in data centers, electrical rooms, telecommunication infrastructures, archives, museums, laboratories, and areas containing high-value electronic equipment.
