FM-200 (HFC227ea) Clean Agent Fire Suppression System

FM-200 is a colorless, odorless, and electrically non-conductive clean extinguishing gas composed of carbon, fluorine, and hydrogen (CF3CHFCF3). As an extinguisher that does not harm the ozone layer, it has been developed as a substitute for Halon 1301. It is a popular extinguisher that has been approved by many standards and organizations around the world, including UL, FM, and LPCB.

It extinguishes the fire using chemical and physical effects without affecting the oxygen in the space. When the NFPA 2001 concentration meets the specifications, it is respirable and poses no threat to human health.

FM-200 controls A, B, and C class fires in less than 10 seconds. As a result, it does not leave any residue in the environment and avoids the creation of smoke. This time frame needs to be verified using a hydraulic calculation that is conducted using authorized software from the brand that is provided. Neglect in accounts created with unlicensed or different brand software might result in significant losses.

The FM-200 has the advantage over other clean gas extinguishing systems in that it requires less space due to its low gas consumption and leaves no residue after extinguishing. The gas-filled cylinder can be placed either inside or outside the area to be extinguished.

The FM-200 is typically used in locations with high-financial value products that cannot be extinguished with water or foam. If the necessary space tightness is established, it can be used as an extinguisher against nearly all fire hazards.
