It is used in locations where a fire could spread quickly, such as flammable material storage and aircraft hangars. In systems with this valve, all sprinklers are always open, and in the event of a fire, the extinguisher is discharged from all sprinklers. It can be used with either water or foam. The valve is opened by using a secondary pilot sprinkler line (which can be dry or wet) or detectors.
