It is the equivalent of the Supervisory Switch Butterfly Valve and OS&Y Rising Stem Valve in Water Fire Extinguishing Systems and is used to provide regional water flow control. It is suitable for pipelines buried under the ground outside against the danger of frost (for example Hydrant Lines). Open and closed positions can be monitored, such as the Supervisory Switch Butterfly Valve and the OS&Y Rising Stem Valve, but this is done mechanically, not with a switch box.
